چکیده

We study a moving boundary value problem consisting of a viscous incompressible fluid moving and interacting with a nonlinear elastic solid shell. The fluid motion is governed by the Navier–Stokes equations, while the shell is modeled by the nonlinear Koiter shell model, consisting of bending and membrane tractions as well as inertia. The fluid is coupled to the solid shell through continuity of displacements and tractions (stresses) along the moving material interface. We prove existence and uniqueness of solutions in Sobolev spaces.

Navier-stokes Equations Interacting with a Nonlinear Elastic Solid Shell

Abstract. We study a moving boundary value problem consisting of a viscous incompressible fluid moving and interacting with a nonlinear elastic solid shell. The fluid motion is governed by the Navier-Stokes equations, while the shell is modeled by the nonlinear Koiter shell model, consisting of both bending and membrane tractions. The fluid is coupled to the solid shell through continuity of di...

A nonlinear, 3D fluid-structure interaction problem driven by the time-dependent dynamic pressure data: a constructive existence proof

We study a 3D fluid-structure interaction (FSI) problem between an incompressible, viscous fluid modeled by the Navier-Stokes equations, and the motion of an elastic structure, modeled by the linearly elastic cylindrical Koiter shell equations, allowing structure displacements that are not necessarily radially symmetric. The problem is set on a cylindrical domain in 3D, and is driven by the tim...

A Nonlinear Fluid-structure Interaction Problem in Compliant Arteries Treated with Vascular Stents

We study a nonlinear fluid-structure interaction problem between an incompressible, viscous fluid in 3D and an elastic structure whose Lamé elastic parameters, thickness and density are all functions of space allowing jump discontinuities. This problem is motivated by studying the interaction between blood flow and arterial walls treated with vascular prostheses called stents. A stent is a meta...

Existence of a weak solution to a nonlinear fluid-structure interaction problem modeling the flow of an incompressible, viscous fluid in a cylinder with deformable walls

We study a nonlinear, unsteady, moving boundary, fluid-structure interaction (FSI) problem arising in modeling blood flow through elastic and viscoelastic arteries. The fluid flow, which is driven by the time-dependent pressure data, is governed by 2D incompressible Navier-Stokes equations, while the elastodynamics of the cylindrical wall is modeled by the 1D cylindrical Koiter shell model. Two...

Navier-stokes Equations Interacting with a Nonlinear Elastic Shell

Abstract. We study a moving boundary value problem consisting of a viscous incompressible fluid moving and interacting with a nonlinear elastic shell. The fluid motion is governed by the Navier-Stokes equations, while the shell is modeled by the nonlinear St. Venant-Kirchhoff constitutive law, and they are coupled together by continuity of displacement and traction (stress) along the moving mat...
